The Teaching Kitchen's Birthday Party!

To celebrate the Teaching Kitchen's second year in operation at 537 G Street, we threw a birthday party and invited all of Davis to stop by for a treat, and to check out this great facility in case they hadn't seen it yet.



Adults and kids alike enjoyed the tiny cupcakes, sparkling beverages and popcorn we provided as treats.





In lieu of gifts for the birthday kid (what do you buy the kitchen that already has everything?), we invited guests to bring school supplies for Davis classrooms, and were thrilled by their generosity! Not surprised, though-- Davis Food Co-op members are always showing us their warm-hearted and giving nature.



Superworker Abigial donned the Tomato costume to add an extra note of festivity to our celebration.



All in all, donations from party guests as well those from Co-op vendors allowed us to fill more than 40 shopping bags to the brim with school supplies for Davis classrooms. Many thanks to those who joined us, as well as those who helped us by bringing donations, and those who helped us to fill the bags. We love it when we're able to have a blast and do some good for our community at the same time, and the Teaching Kitchen's Birthday Party was another great opportunity to do what we love!
