Holiday Gift Guide!

Holiday gift shopping can be a real source of stress. For the past few years, I've discovered the joy of shopping the Co-op for everyone on my list, and it's been win-win-win.

I win, because even though I clock 40 hours a week at the Co-op, shopping here on my off hours is always an enjoyable experience; shoppers at the Co-op seem, on the whole, happier and more relaxed than the shoppers I see at malls and big box stores at this time of year.

My family and friends win, because they get unique, meaningful gifts that were made with care, not mass-produced plastic gizmos that are destined for landfill before the year is through.

And by choosing to buy my gifts at the Co-op, Davis wins, because more of my dollar goes back into the local economy.

We've got tons of great gift items all over the store (plus ingredients to make your own, if you're a do-it-yourselfer at the holidays); here are just a few of the things on my list this year...

It's winter candy wonderland at this display which is located across from our meat counter-- be sure to check out the Theo Fair Trade Holiday chocolate in flavors like Milk & Cookies and Gingerbread Spice.

Nothing says "Davis" like coffee roasted by bike-- and the Pepper Peddler has festively wrapped jars of his pedal-roasted, fair trade, organic beans available in our Bulk coffee section.

Get it while you can! Yolo Press Olive oil is back in stock, and right now we've got unfiltered Olio Nuovo from this year's harvest.

These ceramic mugs are made in the USA and are great for those who like a BIG cup of coffee in the morning. Buy one to support One Farm at a Time, a project we're working on to help Jeff and Annie Main preserve Good Humus Farm for future generations.

I have fond memories of getting oranges in my Christmas stocking when I was a kid-- these Cara Cara oranges are especially sweet and cheery, and delightfully pink inside!

Of course there's tons more that I could talk about here, but I'm sure you'd rather just come to the Co-op and browse the aisles yourself to pick out something special. Check us out and see how GOOD holiday shopping can make you feel this year!
